Who I Help

I work with individuals, with parents seeking support for a child or teen, and with professionals. No matter where you are starting, the same phases of work guide our process together.

Phases of Work

  • Every engagement begins with a thoughtful and thorough starting point. I take time to hear your story, understand your goals, and gather insights from family members and other professionals who know and support you. This foundation ensures that everything we do is based on your personal needs and grounded in reality.

  • Next, we identify and choose the best resources and create a clear action plan. I think of this as finding the right terrain, the conditions where learning, growth and healing can truly take root. Whether it means selecting a therapeutic program, an alternative to college, a new school, or a transformational experience for yourself, I bring a vast, vetted network and decades of experience to guide you confidently toward informed choices.

  • Once your path is set, my role shifts to walking alongside you on the trail. I provide support, feedback, and perspective as you and or your child move through the resources you have chosen. My goal is to help you stay aligned with your deeper goals and feel supported throughout the journey. I will be your guide, advocate, confidante, and biggest cheerleader.

This framework guides all of my work, and below are the clients I most often support.

WHO I HELP

People at a Crossroads

Often people reach out when life feels off track or when they are ready to make meaningful change. Some are struggling and need help finding their footing; others are seeking growth, clarity, or a new direction. I take time to understand your story, your needs, and your hopes before we decide how to move forward.

Together, we often focus on ways to:

  • Make a meaningful life or career change

  • Rebuild health and daily structure

  • Strengthen relationships or community connection

  • Find balance, purpose, and renewed energy

WHO I HELP

Parents Seeking Support for a Child or Teen

If you are feeling scared, uncertain, or carrying the weight of trying to help your child, you are not alone. Many parents I work with have felt overwhelmed and unsure of where to turn. I take time to listen and understand what is happening so we can find a path that restores hope and brings perspective and stability.

Together, we might work to:

  • Clarify next steps and explore options that align with your family’s values

  • Strengthen communication and rebuild trust at home

  • Navigate transitions into or out of programs and schools

  • Help you reconnect as a family and create a greater sense of stability and connection

“Rob Meltzer has a gift of honing in on the crux of any problem. I believe he is able to do this because of his great listening skills and his experience in working with teens. He sees patterns very quickly and is able to support both the teen and the parents through his “on target” observations and his ability to lead you to an understanding of your family dynamics.”
